Oscillation or sudden change of load agitates the indicator needle and is apt to shorten the life ot the indicator.
Attenuation nevertheless by captillary throttle makes possible the use of WASA Dynamometers under the above conditions. lt is to be observed that the inertia of indication rises with the strength of the attenuation.
The time lag over the full capacity range of WASA Dynamometers is about viz: 0.5 seconds with (standard) short capillary throttle 1 second with long capillary throttle.
Micrometer indicators can also be equipped with a one way attenuation either: A) for sudden loading, or B) for sudden off loading
The inclusion of a capillary throttle makes the distance between the cell and the indicator somewhat longer.
